Our Mission

The mission of Equal UA is to embrace diversity, advocate for equity and nurture a community where everyone can belong.

Equal UA believes that the diversity of our community is a source of strength that benefits everyone. We seek to build a more inclusive and equitable culture where all people feel welcome and can fully participate in all aspects of life in Upper Arlington. This includes people of every race, color, age, culture, nationality, ability, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, religion, and class. Our central tenets are to:

• Help create a welcoming community to nurture a sense of belonging by celebrating shared experiences and embracing the differences that make us unique.

• Ascribe to open communication that is kind, thoughtful, and encourages respectful dialogue.

• Act as a bridge builder by supporting collaboration between neighbors, schools, local government, and community groups/organizations.

• Foster learning and growing together by raising awareness and by providing strategies and resources to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community.
